Hartford, CT (September 21, 2012) – Back by popular demand, the 2012 Discover Hartford Bicycle Tour takes place next Saturday on September 29, 2012, kicking off Hartford’s Envisionfest celebration of arts, food and culture.

Hosted by Bike Walk Connecticut, the tour is a fun, family-friendly, leisurely ride that welcomes cyclists of all abilities to explore our capital city’s diverse neighborhoods, architectural and cultural gems, and parks by bicycle. 

Riders may choose to from 10-, 25-, or 40-mile routes.  Attractions vary by route, but some of the highlights along the way include Bushnell Park; the Soldier & Sailors Memorial Arch; the Wadsworth Atheneum; the Mark Twain House; the Butler-McCook House and Gardens; the Colt Building; The Bushnell; Riverside Park; Keney Park; Pope Park; The Hartford Circus Fire Memorial; Trinity College; Charter Oak Landing; the Artist Collective; Goodwin Park; Cedar Hill Cemetery; Elizabeth Park; Batterson Park and more.

When:  Saturday, September 29, 2012.  Check-in and late registration:  7 am to 8 am.  Opening ceremonies:  8:45 am.  Ride leaves:  9 am.  Ride returns on your own schedule.

Cost through September 26:  $30 members; $40 nonmembers; $10 youth under 18.  Same day registration is $45; youth under 18 still $10.
