Travelers, HEI Resorts Named Bronze Bicycle Friendly Businesses by the League of American Bicyclists

5/18/2015

Connecticut now has 6 Bicycle Friendly Communities, 8 Bike Friendly Businesses and 1 Bike Friendly University.

Congratulations to Travelers in Hartford and HEI Hotels and Resorts in Norwalk for joining the ranks of more than 950 companies across the country recognized by the League of American Bicyclists as a Bicycle Friendly Business (BFBSM).

Travelers' programs in Hartford were awarded a Bronze and the St. Paul campus received an honorable mention.  "Travelers has long supported alternative transportation for commuting to work," said Andy Bessette, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. "By supporting employees who bike to work, we are also assisting them in pursuing a healthy, active, and environmentally friendly lifestyle."

Travelers sponsors Bike to Work programs in Hartford and St. Paul, and holds transit fairs in both cities for employees to learn more about alternatives to driving. Free bike parking is also provided, along with access to showers, lockers, and a changing area.

Learn more about Travelers Bike to Work programs by contacting Anne I. Hayes, Parking & Mass Transit.
