Bike Walk Connecticut’s ‘Teach the Physical Education Teachers’ workshop held on Saturday, April 7, 2019 in Glastonbury provided educators with resources, tools and skills needed to implement and teach bicycle education to elementary school students. Many thanks to Ginny Hole and Ken Sek from South Windsor Walk & Wheel Ways for partnering with Bike Walk Connecticut to help teach this workshop. Thanks also to Glastonbury Parks & Recreation and the Glastonbury Public Schools for providing us a facility to conduct this event. The workshop consisted of presentations, hands-on, in-class demonstrations, on-bike parking lot drills, and a group ride; in addition to simulations of instruction methods appropriate for elementary school students. Thanks to everyone who contributed to making this workshop a success!
