New Haven Mayoral Candidate Harp Calls for More Complete Streets and Safer Bicycle Lanes

10/15/2013

New Haven Mayoral candidate Toni Harp released an economic development plan earlier this month.

Part of her plan calls for an enhancement of New Haven's many neighborhoods as regional destination corridors. The plan would be to use the techniques of the "Main Street" and "New Urbanism" movements to enable each neighborhood to increase activity by becoming regional destinations.

She would also like to extend the City's "Complete Streets" program to reach more New Haven neighborhoods.

Her proposal also calls for more funds to create safer bicycle lanes that will be protected from vehicular traffic.

View the full plan on the New Haven Independent website here.
