MOTHERLOAD Documentary Screening

10/18/2019

We had a wonderful time at last night's screening of the documentary MOTHERLOAD at Goodwin College Auditorium. This award-winning 90-minute documentary explores the history of cargo bikes while following film director and new mother Liz Canning on her quest to understand modern life and our hunter-gatherer DNA, and how cargo bikes can offer a solution. As Liz meets the people behind this push to replace cars with purpose-built bikes, she learns about the history and potential future of the bicycle as the 'ultimate social revolutionizer'.  Her story is one of challenge, conflict, hope, and empowerment.

League Cycling Instructor Seminar in Glastonbury

7/23/2019

The candidates attending this past weekend's League Cycling Instructor (LCI) Seminar in Glastonbury successfully demonstrated parking lot drills & other teaching exercises under the direction of Coach Rich Conroy from NYC. The Seminar included students from CT, ME, MA, and Washington D.C. The high heat and humidity was a challenge, but everyone managed it well. Congratulations to all the new LCIs!

We had a great turnout of families who joined Bike Walk CT, Early Childhood Collaborative of Southington, Southington Police Bike Patrol, and Bike New Britain at our second annual Bike Safe Southington on Friday evening.
The attendees enthusiastically participated in several event activities such as the "melon drop" demonstration, the "how slow can you go" race, and the bicycle part tagging competition.
