According to the Hartford Courant, Canton's Board of Selectmen have given partial support to designate a section of the Farmington River in the town as a greenway.
The Farmington River Watershed Association ask for the town's help to establish the greenway last month. The greenway would need to be approved by the state and the town would need to support the greenway as well. proposal to designate a section of the Farmington river in town as a greenway has won partial support from the board of selectmen. The greenway that is proposed would start at an existing greenway in Collinsville and head up the Farmington River to the New Hartford town line. The greenway supporters told selectmen the greenway would not have an impact on private property owners, however the selectmen were unsure of these.
