![]() With less than 48 hours until Bike to Work Day begins, Bike Walk Connecticut sees more clear skies and less hesitation as CT residents continue to take the pledge to ride to work on May 16th. The DCF is swiftly transforming into the iPhone of State Government organizations; having more pledges than all of the other Connecticut organizations combined. DEEP and Corrections hold their positions while the Department of Transportation is challenging the Department of Public Health for fourth place: it's the people who know how to stay healthy against the people who know how to stay in motion, so it'll be one tough battle. Private sector pledges, which are still being led by small businesses, have seen some big changes in the last 48 hours with Traveler's Insurances suddenly jumping into third place. However, they may not be able to stay under the umbrella of the bronze medal for long since Yale - completely missing only days ago - showed up with nine pledges with more on the way. West Hartford (which was recently designated a Bike Friendly Community) remains on top with 55 pledges while Waterbury and Hartford have 31 and 25 pledges, respectively. But momentum is building in the lower ranks: Stamford has suddenly found itself in the top ten with 13 pledges. But Manchester, Cheshire and Simsbury may not stand for that and are only a few pledges shy of collectively hurling 'The City that Works' into 'The City that Isn't In the Top Ten.' In Other News:
