![]() On May 13 and 14 the City of Bridgeport, in collaboration with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the transportation planning firm Alta Planning, hosted a series of public and municipal workshops aimed at making Bridgeport a better place for bicycle riding. The two-day event brought a great deal of support for creating a more hospitable environment for biking in Bridgeport, while also educating local officials about the different options available for bikesharing programs. The meeting was funded through an EPA technical assistance grant to help the City of Bridgeport strategically think about the feasibility of a bikeshare system and to solicit feedback on how to make biking more accessible in Bridgeport for transportation and recreation. Based on the meeting, Alta Planning will make recommendations with options for Bridgeport to move forward with a bikesharing program. Comments are closed.
