Bring bicycle education to your schools Bike Walk CT is continuing to offer bike education workshops for teachers, to share the 4th grade curriculum that has been successfully implemented in South Windsor for more than a decade. Bike education teaches children how to check their bikes and ride safely, introduces them to a green way to get where they n eed to go, sets them up to be good drivers, and aligns with the state health and wellness curriculum. Hartford, CT & Falls Village, CT Registration is open for the Spring 2024 Discover Connecticut tour on Sunday, May 19 that starts in Hartford. Bike to Work Day Tuesday, May 14 Hartford, CT National Bike to Work Day is May 19 and the annual Hartford area Bike to Work Day will take place on Tuesday, May 14. Ride to downtown Hartford and gather at Old State House from 7:00am-9:00am for camaraderie, coffee, and bagels, plus a few words from state and local officials. Let's start the spring season off right with an active commute! 2023 BWCT Annual Dinner Hartford, CT This fundraiser event offered a unique opportunity to experience an evening of presentations promoting encouragement, inspiration and celebration for Connecticut cyclists and pedestrians, plus a great opportunity for networking with people who are passionate about cycling and walking. Our Keynote Speaker this year was bicycle advocate Bill Nesper, the executive director of the League of American Bicyclists. You can view the content from his presentation here on our Resources page. In addition to a buffet dinner, the evening also included our silent auction of goods and services from businesses and individuals. |
