Save A Car Trip, Bike Instead! | Insurenet.comInsurenet.com offers an excellent page of resources that make the case for cycling as an alternative to driving. Special thanks to Ms. Donovan's class at the North Central Plains charter school in Texas for passing this excellent resource along:
Benefits of Biking One of the primary benefits of biking is that it is an ideal alternative to driving. Although cars are the primary source of transportation in many countries, they can be expensive to drive and hard on the environment. Unlike cars, bikes are self-powered and do not release harmful gases into the atmosphere. As a result, biking does not contribute to global warming. When a person rides a bike, he or she also benefits from a low-impact workout. It can help strengthen the cardiovascular system, joints, and stamina. It also helps to promote weight-loss or help a person maintain a healthy weight. Laws, Policies, Initiatives
