During a Plainville Town Council Meeting on January 6, Town Manager Robert Lee said design work will start soon to fill the 9-mile gap in the town on the Farmington Canal Heritage Greenway.
According to the Hartford Courant, the design work will chart the best path to extend the best path to extend the trail from Southington through Plainville to the trail section just north in Farmington. One problem the town is facing is getting the rights-of-way in older industrial sections of the trail, which includes wetlands and railroad property. Read the full article in the Courant here.
